Our second monthly Kirtan Jam Session took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Here’s a recap of the event:
We started off with Hardev Singh from California who led a rousing set of Ad Guray Namey and Jai Te Gang and the pledge of allegiance/ We are the Khalsa, Mighty Mighty Khalsa… then Satkirin played some mantras… Sat Siri Siri Akal, etc and Livtar’s “I am a beautiful soul”… then Livtar Singh shared a number of his “lesser known” songs… both Satkirin and Livtar Singh shared stories. Livtar also played the “Winter Solstice” song and told the story of the Winter Solstice which inspired him to write the song… then Nav Nihal from Argentina sang some mantras and a beautiful Shabad which she learned from her Gurbani teacher. (she also used a tabla machine which sounded great).
We ended with a three-person jatha from Chile (Sat Nishan Kaur and Satyapreet Kaur travelled to Charansev’s city just for the event and then they joined her in the local recording studio to record some of the songs they sang for us!) The sound was awesome with the three of them playing/singing together (either harmonium and guitar or harmonium and tabla machine). They sang a version of Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur which Sat Nishan sang at the Healthy Happy Holy Day celebration back in August (my new favorite version of that Shabad!) They sang Shabad Hazaray and “Sat Nam, the Grace Within You” (originally written by Gurutrang Singh) in Spanish (they said that this song has become “iconic” with the Chilean Sangat and they have many rousing chantings singing it!) and they sang “the Khalsa pledge of allegiance” in Spanish and a beautiful poem written by Nam Nidhan Kaur in Spanish which was put to music by a sangat member. They ended the event by playing “On this Day” and “May the Long Time Sun” in Spanish. It was a very heartfelt event and many of the participants expressed their gratitude for this fun, inspirational, cozy Sangat gathering.

The Musicians for this Event
Livtar Singh
Livtar has been practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1969 when he met Yogi Bhajan. He started the GRD Ashram in Atlanta Ga in 1970 and has been teaching there at his post, ever since. Livtar Singh has been a musician since early childhood and has been incorporating music and consciousness for decades. Since the first 3HO Solstice in 1970, he has been a huge supporter of the Solstice event and the life changing energy of it.
Satkirin Kaur
For over four decades, Satkirin Kaur Khalsa has devoted her life to expanding the consciousness of humanity through music and Naad Yoga, the yoga of sound. Having studied extensively with kirtan masters, she offers first-hand knowledge of the powerful meditative system of words and music called Gurbani Kirtan, which she imparts with insight and humor.
Using the Indian sacred musical format of rhythm and Raga scales, Satkirin guides us to healing the human body and mind through the power of the sound current. As a Kundalini Yoga specialty teacher in the Aquarian Academy, she delivers a comprehensive understanding of how to accurately chant. Through inspiring stories and vocal kriyas, Satkirin guides her students through the system of Gurbani Kirtan, which is a powerful and beautiful way to remove limiting thoughts and beliefs through cultivating inner harmony and grace.
Nav Nihal Kaur
Professional and devotional musician, naad yogini and teacher. Gurmat Sangeet and Indian Classical music student.
Timpani player at Symphony Orchestra of Rosario since 2005. Professor at the National University of Rosario since 2010.

Her first album called “Gur Prasaad”, a journey of introspection, devotion and gratitude, is available on all platforms.
Walking in service to the teachings of the Gurbani, sharing experiences of devotion in community where the Guru plans it.
Hardev Singh
Born in Memphis in 1988, I was raised Catholic through prep schools before a 2008 motorcycle accident and brief incarceration for drugs and alcohol became a turning point. Through the grace of the divine and the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, my path transformed, carrying the rhythm and blues and Southern rock ‘n’ roll of my Memphis roots into a new calling.
Now rooted in Fresno, California, I’m a mortgage broker by day, husband and father of one, elevating the dharma in the only way I know how.
Charansev Kaur
Charansev Kaur Khalsa is from Viña del Mar, Chile. She was trained as a marketing engineer and is currently working in a real estate and construction company. She serves as a board member at Sikh Dharma Chile, Sikh Dharma International and as the chairperson of Breathe Global. By Guru’s Grace, she had the blessing to be trained in Shabad Guru and Kirtan by Ustad Narinder Singh in India.
Sat Nishan Kaur
Kundalini Yoga instructor. Specialist in Children’s Yoga, Education, and Parenting. Holds a degree in Education and is a Music Education teacher.
Singer and member of the musical group Sat Mantra, whose inspiration is to serve the meditative space through the musical arrangement of Kundalini Yoga mantras.
