Monthly Kirtan Jam Session (April 4, 2026)

Our sixth monthly Kirtan Jam Session took place on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

This month we did things a little differently.  Members of the Sangat shared their favorite 3HO songs or Shabads ahead of time and we created a playlist which we shared with the participants.  In addition, we had 3HO Legacy Musicians, Gurutrang Singh and Livtar Singh who joined and played many of our “oldies”, as well as requests from participants.

We invite you to join these cozy Sangat gatherings, which take place the first Saturday of each month and are hosted by SDI and 3HO International.

They are generally three-hour events.

Bios for the Musicians

Livtar Singh

Livtar Singh from Georgia, USA

Livtar has been practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1969 when he met Yogi Bhajan. He started the GRD Ashram in Atlanta Ga in 1970 and has been teaching there at his post, ever since. Livtar Singh has been a musician since early childhood and has been incorporating music and consciousness for decades. Since the first 3HO Solstice in 1970, he has been a huge supporter of the Solstice event and the life changing energy of it.

Gurutrang SinghGurutrang Singh from Virginia, USA

I have been playing piano, guitar, drums and singing songs since I was born. I began guitar lessons at age 11. My father was a Big Band tenor sax and clarinet player. My mom has a beautiful voice. My sister spun all the hit tunes in the way back. Music was always at my home and a part of my life.

When I was sixteen, I was introduced to Kundalini Yoga. I moved into the Baltimore Panj Pyare Ashram when I graduated high school at age 18. I was attending lots of White Tantric Yoga courses, Summer and Winter Solstice Celebrations, Yoga Intensives, and Kundalini Yoga Courses taught live, directly by the Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan. My musical abilities were quickly integrated into the group practices wherever I went, and I wrote several endearing, heritage 3HO songs, such as “Sat Nam the Grace Within You”, “Oh Guru Ram Das Thank You for this Beautiful Day”, “The Yogi Tea Song”, “Get Out of Bed You Little Sleepy Head”, and many other chants and songs.

I also learned by memory most every other Heritage song from so many 3HO artists and sang them at Gurdwaras and events everywhere even up until this day. Mukhia Singh Sahib Livtar Singh and I shared music when our beards were still brown, black, and gold hair at Solstices, and at Dharmic activities.

You can say, I am a walking, talking, singing, encyclopedia of 3HO/Sikh Dharma devotional songs. And I love it. I love singing from my heart in the Perfect Love of the Perfect Guru, Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. When I sing, my aura, sound, and colorization vibrate into the Magnetic Infinity. I reach people by vibrating with them as I play and sing. It is as if I am one with their One.
